Yeah, the automatic resizer here can be a real drag . Hard to read graphs will definately inhibit meaningfull discussion .Quote:

PS : I'd like to see a more critical vertical db scale used in your display , such as 50 db .
- 50 db vertical used to be accepted as a Pro standard ( can't remember the horizontal speed ) .
- Going larger than 50 db starts to employ more & more wishful thinking ( in the form of vertical squashing/ ie; smoothing ) .
@ GM & Earl I will get started on those other measurements you guys had requested.
BTW: :thankU: Both for you Kind and Gracious support it is really Appreciated !! :)
Hey Earl,
I generated those graphs. Will redo for a 50dB scale.
A-B, send me the new T-350 files (the whole zip) and I will generate those, too.
OK, here are the 288 plots redone. 50dB scale, 1/6th octave smoothing.
Please not that driver #2 was measured off axis. Also see below driver #1 which appears to have a better response. It was not measured off axis.
On the driver #2 plot you will also see the H2 distortion. It rises below about 700Hz. This is true for both drivers, tho not shown. H3 is similar and on both drivers.

Good Work John !
Thanks Pano !Quote:

Could you please export the main IR/FR files ( for Drivers #1 & 2 ) as text files ( & then post them here ) .

Hey Earl, sure can do.
Do you prefer any format? Values separated by comma, space, tab or semicolon?
You can see why I don't consider the 511 a true 500Hz horn. 600-650, maybe. I see the same results on the normal 1" version.
We did not measure efficiency of the horns, other than relative. The T-350 looks to be about 4-5dB less sensitive than the 288/511E at the same drive voltage.
No acoustic measurements of the 416 drivers as the box isn't built yet. That is the least of our worries at the moment. I have enough measurements of mine to get us started.
Use the same format that you used for the other text files (Z) which are posted above .Quote:

OK, here are the FR files as tab separated text. All in 1 zip file.
Looking at them again, I can see that my graphs above have 1/3 octave smoothing on the far off-axis plots. Fixed that on this export. Everything is 1/6th octave. 200-24000Hz
Thanks Earl I can't stress enough about Pano's patience and assistance. I essentially Burned up his Sunday afternoon.Which allowed me to get up and running much, much, quicker. Thanks Michael ! :coffeedrinker:
Will get the rest of the measurements done this afternoon.I have a almost New Pristine pair of 416-8B's coming today from California. So when they get here, I will measure them up and hope they will be a better match for the new ones I already have. Thanks Guys ! :thankU:
BTW: GM thinks that the 500 Hz XO point will be a stretch at best so I'm thinking about 650- 700 Hz what do you guys think.
